I guess the one thing I get asked more than anything is. "How were you able to leave a nursing career making 70 k a year and consistently make over 150 k a year and enjoy traveling and fine dining on someone else's money?" I am going to tell you exactly how I did it! I knew what I wanted and took little steps everyday!  1. Mindset!   The first step is conquering your MIND!  Deciding what you want and being open to the way it unfolds but knowing that it will unfold!  I knew when I was walking the halls of the hospital that there was more for me.  Being a bedside nurse is wonderful and fulfilling and I have made life long friends because of my time working in hospitals.  However, I knew that it wasn't something that I would do forever.  I always wanted to fly and travel and work as an executive! ALWAYS! From the time I was in high school, I wanted more out of life than an eight to faint job! Personal development is the key to getting what you want.  Read good

You will need to grab and Uber

On Any Given Tuesday

I am home this week... No travel until Sunday. We went to the Sunday Market on St. Pete Beach which is a great place for us to go on Sunday mornings for Brunch.  I bought lots of veggies and fruits for the week so I planned to cook! Everything looked amazing! We ate brunch at Chill which was fantastic. I had the Shrimp and Grits... To be honest. Very good but not the best I have ever had.  They do have a brunch buffet that starts at 10 am. It's busy and they have options for outside seating, bar seating or tables! Great Service!  So by now you're thinking... What does any given Tuesday( the blog title) have to do with anything? Well, here it goes. Since I am home this week and cooking, I am standing in my beautiful all white farmhouse kitchen admiring this beautiful new cutting board and I am thinking that this Tuesday, I am home making dinner from local farmers and grass fed beef.  Next Tuesday, I will be in Los Angeles staying on Rodeo Drive at The Beverly W

DC Trumps most other cities

I love DC and I love Washington. They are different you know? If you work in government, then you consider yourself to work in Washington.  If you do anything else here or you are a tourist, it's called DC! I came to DC for the first time at 18 years old on my senior trip and I have loved it ever since. I'm always excited when flying into Ronald Reagan airport which is in the heart of the city. I love that about the RR airport! I am sitting in the sky club now and I am looking a the Capitol in the distance. It's just beautiful. I love all of the landmarks here.  I think the Washington Monument is my favorite. This time I stayed in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It's Five Star. Turn down service with slippers placed by your bed at night. It's truly a great experience.  The bar, the food, the rooms are all perfection. Next Stop was the Trump Hotel! Now that was a treat for sure. We just stopped by for coffee and of course to question the staff :) It's truly

Christmas in New York City

For years now I have been going to New York City a few weeks before Christmas to enjoy an early Christmas. It's become a tradition I enjoy very much. I invite friends that have never been or haven't been to NYC during Christmas. Each year, I plan several new things to do with no pressure on myself or my traveling partners. It's a relaxing time even in the hustle and bustle of the Big APPLE. This year was no exception. I got to connect with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time as well as spend time with one of my best friends who lives in another state.  There were a couple of highlights of the trip one was the Louis Vuitton exhibit downtown. I started collecting LV over the past few years and I thought it would be cool to attend the exhibit and learn about the history of Louis Vuitton. It was a free exhibit and did not disappoint! My good friend Allyson who fell in love with LV at this exhibit!  The LV gowns worn by stars were quite amazing.   For those

Travel Q & A

Hello December!  Glad you are here! This is absolutely my favorite time of year! While it's hard in Florida to get into in the Christmas spirit.  I pretend it's 40 outside, turn the AC on 65 and put of Pandora Christmas music.  Since, I travel every week, I do get to experience Christmas other places too.  These keys represent a big part of my life. I stay between 100-150 nights a year at Marriott properties. I also take about 150-160 flights a year. Almost ALWAYS on DELTA! I love travel and It's great that I have built a career that I could travel! Believe me, it wasn't accidental. I did it on purpose. I have known for years that I wanted to travel the world! Most of my travel is in the US but that's okay too. I will travel internationally. It's just not time yet!  People often ask me about travel.  Here are the most common questions I get asked!  Does your company pay for your travel? Yes, my company pays 100% of my travel. Nothing is out of my

Highlights and Defining Moments - Rural Illinois

This was really day two of Rural Illinois. What a day driving it was.  I always look for a few things that are the highlight of my day. Today there were several highlights and one defining moment. Highlight #1  The barns and silos were so beautiful and peaceful, I just couldn't get enough. As the sun was setting across a freshly harvested field the sunlight reflecting on the side of this barn was breathtaking.  I used my IPhone and I did not use a filter. Highlight #2   Driving from Rural Olney, Illinois ( truly the middle of nowhere) to St. Louis I came to the  intersection of highway and interstates 57 and 70. I was in AWE of this cross against the dusky sky.  Turns out it's the Largest Cross in the US and it's located in Effingham, IL   Great Surprise!  Defining Moment. Today's highlights are really standouts because of the defining moment that happened before I saw the cross and before I took the picture of the barn at sunset.  I was reminded o
